Yay! I ran 21km last night, thanks geomap, powerade and my mp3! In the rain, too(for about 5 minutes. But still). Yay me!
Not yay: out-of-nowhere anaphylactic reaction requiring adrenaline pen, a lot of drugs, and no nice evening with the Spousal Unit that I'd been looking forward to for ages. No ambulance this time though (is that a yay?). My allergy specialist, who assured me this was extremely unlikely to happen again, is in for a proper ticking off I can tell you.
I'm absolutely shattered this morning and I look like the elephant man, but shit happens, eh? And I'm still alive to whinge.
But did I tell you I ran 21km? All by myself? And in the rain? YAY!

BUT what is with the anaphylactic reactions? I'm sure you've done all the tests etc but let me know if u want another opinion and I'll pass u over to the doc that looks after my Josh. Must've been very scary but I'm glad you're ok.

Aw there's a lot more detail about the reactions in my 'long story' sidebar article - basically it's nothing specific, but a mast cell system weakness toward a combination of several things eg (but we don't know) exertion, champagne, pineapple, TTOM and air temp of 11 degrees. If 3 of these five occur, I'm fine, if 4 happen I'm f#$%ed. And if it was, say, a type of bush, then I'd have to do a botanical survey of wherever I was about to go. Which wouldn't work. So it's all a big pain. I have been taking medication to boost the cell system that controls the reaction; looks as though I'll have to go back on it.
Yah the 21 kilometres sounds great. I'm sure the rain was a little refreshing at the time too.
The other stuff sounds very serious but with a adrenaline pen on hand I would say that you was well prepared. Stay safe!
