A leg 'brace' so hold your foot in place while you sleep.a
My friends with PF have some weird foot thing to sleep in. I guess it stretches the foot while you sleep or something like that. Good luck!
Hi A. This is an unfortunate development! My personal experience of this is that the exact symptoms and remedy can vary enormously. Lots of people have something that has worked for them ... which may or may not be of any use to you.
In my case it bothered me during my marathon campaign in 2009 (which was the last time I was running consistently). It was quite bad in the morning, but didn't bother me after I'd been up and about for an hour or so.
The 'Strasbourg sock' thing can help; so can rolling a ball under your foot (too painful for me!).
In my case; once I stopped running as much it disappeared and hasn't been an issue now for a year or more.
I wish you all the best and hope you find your solution soon.
Paul :-)
Al I tried the Strasburg sock but it just made me lose sleep and I eventually sent it to someone on coolrunning who wanted one- they also cost $60 a throw. You can strap your foot to ease the pressure, plus stretch your calves, ice your foot regularly and remember you aren't alone- mine just reappeared on the left foot for something new. I have off the shelf orthotics that are a treat and have nearly removed all the symptoms which is better than the freaking rest and cortisone that fixed it last time. NEVER GO BAREFOOT- even to the toilet in the middle of the night!
Have much more advice if you want but the NEVER GO BAREFOOT is the main thing. Sara
